Eight new projects releasing today: compressors, drives, germanium, and a boost
Along with this weekend’s spring sale, we’re releasing eight new projects. There’s something for everyone—some compressors, a two-stage boost, an amp emulator, and yeah, a few new overdrives. We can’t help it, they’re all so much fun!
This release is also something of a milestone. Back in 2018, we decided to start offering kits. This was by far the biggest project we’ve ever tackled, and it’s been successful beyond what we could have imagined. But the new kits needed a new PCB layout style and enclosure size, meaning that our full lineup of (at that time) 40 PCBs would have to get a total redesign.
We’ve been gradually chipping away at that queue for the past five years, but with the release of the Titan and Fusion, we’re excited to say the transition is finally complete and all legacy projects have been upgraded. (Well, almost all… the L5 Preamp and Blueshift may also be seeing some updates soon, but we’ll save that for another day.)
Proxima – Flatline Compressor
A simple, cheap and surprisingly effective optical compressor that works great on bass or guitar.
Draco – Dr. Boogey
A JFET conversion of the Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier Solo Head that originated in the DIY community and has become a classic high-gain distortion effect.
Titan – Fulltone® OCD®

Tethys – Baldwin-Burns Buzzaround
An early version of the Tone Bender Mk. III with a completely different voicing and transistor bias control, sold by the Baldwin-Burns company in London.
Cadmus – ZVEX Super Duper
A two-channel boost composed of identical MOSFET gain stages. The boosts can be cascaded in series or selected independently.
Somnus – Sobbat DB-01 Drive Breaker
A two-channel boost composed of identical MOSFET gain stages. The boosts can be cascaded in series or selected independently.
Nomad – Engineer’s Thumb
A full-featured yet surprisingly simple OTA-based compressor design that operates on a feed-forward principle for better performance and lower noise.
Fusion – Suhr® Riot™
A versatile distortion/overdrive noted for its Marshall-like “stack of amps” tone.
