New kit based on the King Tone Duellist, plus new components in stock
We’re launching a new kit today: the Gladiator, based on the King Tone Duellist. We first traced this pedal in 2022, and since then it’s become one of our most-requested kits.
Our version is true to the original top-jack model from 2021 (version 1.2), with one change: we’ve added two additional jacks for send and return, so the effect order can be reversed or the two effects can be used independently at different points in the chain. On the original pedal, this was done via internal DIP switches and TRS cables, but we’ve streamlined it significantly in our adaptation.
This pedal was originally inspired by the King of Tone and it makes a great alternative or companion to our Theseus kit based on that circuit.
New components
Not quite as exciting, but this week we also added several new components to our stock:
- Coolaudio V571D compandor (used in the DM-2 and DC-2)
- 2N5484 and 2N5485 JFETs, used in the Echoplex Preamp as well as the Randall RG100
- TL062 and LM833 op-amps
- 2N5089, MPSA18, and BC559C transistors
- 2N7000 MOSFETs
- 22k, 25k, 250k, and 1M Bourns trimmers
As always, the goal is just to carry a few of the harder-to-find parts in order to simplify the sourcing for your projects.
