Four new traces + five new projects releasing today
Along with our spring sale, we’ve got four new tracing journals to share, and five new projects in total. We’ve also got an update for the Polyphemus (Pigtronix Philosopher’s Tone) that fixes the volume issue that goes all the way back to the original trace.
Empyrean Deluxe – Darkglass® Alpha Omega
A dual-mode bass distortion that delivers modern rock & metal bass tones by way of carefully-tuned signal filtering, plus a clean blend to retain the low end. Also includes a 3-band EQ for more flexible control of the blended tone.

Empyrean – Darkglass Alpha Omicron
A reduced version of the Alpha Omega that omits the 3-band EQ in favor of a more traditional distortion circuit.

Axion – Chase Tone Secret Preamp

Stratus Deluxe – BOSS SD-1W Waza Craft
An adaptation of BOSS’s premium upgrade to the classic SD-1 circuit, featuring a high-quality buffer along with a new “Custom” mode that adds gain and shifts the midrange frequencies.
424 Preamp – Tascam 424
A pedal conversion of the input preamp of the Tascam 424 four-track tape recorder, most notably used by Mk.gee for his main drive tone.
Polyphemus – Pigtronix Philosopher’s Tone
A trace of the Philosopher’s Tone Micro reveals a mistake in the original 2009 trace that resulted in the gain being lower than the stock unit by a factor of 10.
