Halo kit now available in four classic Big Muff variants
The Halo kit is getting an upgrade! Since its original release in 2018, the Halo was only available in one variant, which was a Violet Ram’s Head. Today we’re splitting it into four versions, so you can choose a kit corresponding to any of these historical variants:
Triangle (1971): This was the first mass-produced version of the Big Muff, nicknamed the “Triangle” because the three controls were arranged in a triangular shape.
Violet Ram’s Head (1973): Probably the most famous variant, with a distinctive ram’s head graphic in the lower-right corner of the enclosure.
Gilmour (1974): A red and black Ram’s Head that David Gilmour has used since the mid-1970s.
Civil War / Green Russian (1991): Produced throughout the 1990s in post-Soviet Russia, favored by bassists due to the increased low-end emphasis and slightly reduced gain.
The component bag included with the kit is now color-coded based on the version, and the documentation has been rewritten to account for the different variants. The PCB layout and enclosure design are unchanged.
